Three people in hospital after stabbing near LGBT bar in Liverpool

Three people have been taken to hospital after a stabbing near an LGBT bar.

Police were called to Tithebarn Street in Liverpool city centre at around 6.35am on Sunday after three men were found injured.

They were taken to hospital where two are in a stable condition, while the third suffered minor injuries, Merseyside Police said.

It is believed the incident took place outside the G Bar in Eberle Street, the force added.

Detective Chief Inspector Lisa McNaughton said: "We understand the concern that such a serious incident will cause in the community.

"This is why it is so vital that anyone with information comes forward as a matter of urgency. It appears that some form of altercation broke out near to G Bar, resulting in the three victims sustaining injuries."

She added: "We will do all we can to identify the person responsible and support the victims as this investigation progresses. If you saw or captured any part of this incident, let us know and we will take action.

"The consequences of this incident could have been even worse, so be assured that we will relentlessly pursue the offender.

"You will see an increased police presence carrying out enquiries so speak to us with any information or concerns."
