A 17-year-old girl has been stabbed in the neck and taken to hospital.
Officers were called to reports the girl had been assaulted in Brierfield, Lancashire, at 3.06pm on Friday, Lancashire Police said.
A 30-year-old man from the town was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
He is currently in custody.
The girl was taken to hospital for treatment, Lancashire Police said.
The force said her injuries are not life-threatening or life-changing, and she has been communicating with officers and medical staff.

A spokesperson said: "We know that this will cause alarm in the local community and extra patrols will be in the area over the weekend to provide reassurance."
