Scarborough RUFC suffered a rare loss on Saturday, but their nearest rivals in North East 2 were also beaten.
Matty Jones' men lost 31-5 at Halifax side Old Brodleians, but were boosted by defeats for leaders Rochdale and third-placed Bradford Salem, so they stay in second spot.
Jones spoke to the club's YouTube channel post-match:
There was better news elsewhere as Malton and Norton enjoyed a 41-29 victory at home to Moortown.
In North East One, Driffield were edged out 24-20 at Huddersfield.
It looks like the game's up for Yorkshire One bottom club Bridlington, they're 12 points adrift of safety with just four games to play.
Brid were beaten 35-18 at Dukes Park by Wensleydale.
Hornsea stay top of Yorkshire Four North after a 17-6 success at Leeds Modernians.
