How did our local sides fare on day one of the 2026 season?
In Yorkshire Premier North, Driffield lost out by three wickets at Harrogate.
Driff chose to bat first, with Elliot Hatton posting a superb 70 from 78 balls.
The visitors eventually posted 255 all out, being skittled with 8 balls to spare.
Harrogate then got home by three wickets- Nick Hardgrave and George Drury took two scalps each with Jack Redshaw picked up 3/58.
Bridlington were beaten by the same margin in Premier 2.
Brid got off to a great start with 50 for opening captain Casey Rudd and 64 for Will Norman, however visitors Acomb mopped up the tail with Brid all out for 203.
Acomb reached their target despite three wickets each for Jamie Artley and Calum Hatton.
In North Yorkshire South Durham Division Two, Whitby eased past Middlesbrough 2nds by six wickets.
Tom Steyert took 5/32 and Jack Allanson 4/11 as Middlesbrough made just 114.
Whitby rushed to their target, making 120/4 inside 18 overs, Kai Morris making 48 from only 36 balls.
Scarborough lost out by just 13 runs in a dramatic finish at South Holderness in Yorkshire Championship East.
Daniel O'Connor took 5/34 and Kieran Rutter 3/48 as Holderness were bundled out for 188.
However, Boro were then skittled for 175 with an over left. Callum Armstrong's terrific 65 was the only score above 28.
In the same division, Folkton & Flixton lost out to Beverley Town 2nds by 18 runs in another tight game.
Choosing to field first, Rob Middlewood took 4/39 as Beverley posted 263/6 from 50 overs.
The villagers were then bowled out for 245 with nine balls to spare.
Jack Walmsley top-scored with 52.
Hornsea thumped Scalby by 122 runs.
Hornsea's Doug Griebenouw made 72 from just 58 balls
Lachlan Cooke took 3/49 and there were two wickets each for Liam Cousins and Nathan Valentine.
Scalby made just 160 in response, with David Morris' 37 the top score.
Joe Butterworth took 6/37 for Hornsea.
Driffield Seconds saw off Seamer & Irton comfortably.
Nick Dobbin's sparkling 125 not out took Driff 2nds to an imposing 287 from their 50 overs.
Tom Greenwood made an impressive 56 from just 59 balls for Seamer who were bowled out for 203 in reply.
Jack Riby took 5/65 with Ollie Ezard adding 3/36 in an 84-run win.
Wykeham will have been happy with their 294/7 batting first against Sutton-on-Hull.
Malachi Harry made a superb 125, with keeper Ricky Nock adding 51.
However, Sutton eased to their target, winning by seven wickets.
In Championship Central, Pickering were thumped by 188 runs at the hands of Osbaldwick, at Mill Lane.
Pickering were bowled out for just 172 in reply to the visitors' mammoth 360/2.
Malton & Old Malton beat Clifton Alliance by nine wickets.
