Local care providers and Councils are backing the Governments new push to recruit more care workers.
A Scarborough based care group is backing a national drive to recruit more people into looking after the country’s oldest and most vulnerable.
Saint Cecilia’s Care Group is urging anyone interested in taking up either a part-time or full-time care role to get in touch.
The Scarborough-based care provider is supporting the Government’s “Care for Others, Make a Difference” campaign, which was launched this week.
Group Director Laura Clegg said:
“We fully support the Government’s recruitment drive and are looking for anyone with an interest in a career in care to get in touch and learn more.
“There is no greater contribution than caring for others and a career in care is an extremely rewarding and worthwhile one. Making a difference to someone’s life is a wonderful thing to do and right now we need lots of people to come and join us.”
Saint Cecilia’s Care Group has a nursing home, two care homes and a day care centre in Scarborough and a care home in Pickering. It is looking to recruit across a number of posts, and anyone interested is asked to contact 01723 502411 or visit www.stcecilias.co.uk
The campaign is also being welcomed by North Yorkshire County Council.
Richard Webb is the County's Director of Health and Adult Services. He says it sits nicely alongside the council's ongoing "Make Care Matter" campaign which is continuing to bring more people in to the care sector.
Richard says they started a recruitment drive at the start of the pandemic and says there are a wide variety of roles available.
