The Blues beat the Minstermen 4-1 last night in the North Riding Senior Cup.
Whitby took the lead on 7 minites with a York City own goal from a corner.
Jacob Hazel made it 2 after the break and had a chance to score a 2nd but skied a penalty over the bar.
York made it 2-1 through Mackenzie Heaney on 69 minutes but the home side restored the 2-goal cushion through Coleby Shepherd on 86 minutes before Priestley Griffiths chipped the keeper to seal the victory in style just a minute later.
The Seasiders will now face Scarborough Athletic in the Quarter Final of the North Riding Senior Cup, meaning two Yorkshire Coast derbies in February in both league and cup.
