The Blues are now six matches without a win after a defensive horror show which saw five goals conceded that manager Nathan Haslam called "catastrophic".
Haslam gave the players who lost on penalties in midweek against NPL West Mossley another chance but an error in the first minute saw Ilkeston convert from the penalty spot.
They added two more just before half-time.
The hosts eventually made it five before the end with a Shane Bland save from another spot kick denying things being even worse.
Youngster Sam Collins added a consolation for Whitby late on.
Haslam told Whitby Town TV his side weren't humbled and had some bright spells, particularly in midfield but conceded five "catastrophic" goals:
The Blues host Guiseley on Tuesday night in NPL Premier, kick-off is 7.45pm at the Towbar Express Stadium.
