Whitby Town Sign Former Middlesbrough Midfielder

Whitby Town have completed the signing of midfielder Joe Gibson from Middlesbrough.

The 22-year-old featured on loan for Darlington in the final month of the 2023/24 season and has represented Middlesbrough since the under-9 age group.

Born in Chilton, County Durham, he made his Middlesbrough first team debut in 2022, featuring from the start in a 3-2 FA Cup Third Round victory at Mansfield Town.

Capable of playing both midfield and as a full-back, Gibson now arrives at the Towbar Express Stadium and adds a further option to Nathan Haslam's squad for the 2024/25 season.

He's available for Tuesday's trip to Matlock Town.
