North Yorkshire will host Yorkshire Day celebrations on 1st August 2029.
The authority wants to shout about the county's businesses, scenic landscapes, unique heritage and stunning coastline.
The Council's chair says its an opportunity to develop economic and cultural ambitions.
George Jabbour explored the idea for North Yorkshire to lead for the first time, last year:
"On 1st of August last year, I attended the Yorkshire Day 2025 Civic Celebrations in Bradford. Afterwards, I discovered that the last time Yorkshire Day celebrations were hosted by a local authority in North Yorkshire was in 2019. I also believe that it has never been awarded to the council that represented the whole of our county.
"Therefore, I inquired about the process of hosting future Yorkshire Day celebrations. I am delighted to publicly now today that North Yorkshire Council's proposal for hosting Yorkshire Day 2029 civic celebrations was successful."
Councillor Jabbour set out exactly what he wants to present in three years:
"We made it clear in our bid that our ambition for Yorkshire Day 2029 is to serve as a catalyst to develop economic and cultural ambitions.
"We want to celebrate Yorkshire to shout about our fantastic businesses, our scenic landscapes, our stunning coastline, our unique heritage. And our beautiful sounds and villages.
"We want a public celebration that's open to everyone, one that attracts visitors from across the county and from further afield, a moment for communities right across the region to come together."
