The outgoing manager says he's gutted to be leaving Whitby, and has heaped praise on the staff and fans.
On the Whitby Town website, on Sunday evening, departing Whitby Town manager Gary Liddle has described his time at the club as an "unbelievable experience".
Liddle has joined National League club Hartlepool United as Assistant Manager to Nicky Featherstone, after sixty games in charge of the Seasiders.
His final game in the dugout was the 0-0 draw away at Hednesford Town, and the former Blues boss was full of praise for the people around the club when speaking post-match.
He also says he's proud of his achievements at The Blues:
"Where to start? Not thrown in the deep end, but thrown into management which I was eager to do and happy to take on what I already knew was such a great football club. I've been lucky to have brilliant staff on board [and] met some great people along the way. Of course, as with every team at this level, there's been ups and there's been downs. But ultimately, I'll look back on the last 17, 18 months as an unbelievable experience where I've met some unbelievable people and very thankful for the help I've had off those."
Liddle leaves having led the club to survival last season, a highlight achieved by four consecutive wins at the end of that campaign, he added that Hartlepool was a club he has a historic link with, having played 317 times for the Victoria Park club:
"I've obviously spent half of my career and then half of my games played at Hartlepool and I currently work within the academy. But when I was given the opportunity to step up into the senior side, it was something that I needed to seriously look at.
"And as I've just mentioned, that I'm really gutted to be leaving such an unbelievable group and an unbelievable football club. For the future, it's one that I'm really looking forward to getting my teeth stuck into and I wish Whitby Town all the best."
