The Blues have lost back-to-back away clashes and haven't won on their travels since November, so they might be happy to host Gainsborough Trinity, on Saturday.
Town were beaten 3-1 at Hebburn Town, on Tuesday, a result that saw the Tynesiders go top of the NPL Premier.
Speaking after that defeat, Whitby player-manager Gary Liddle told Whitby Town TV he knows his side need to improve if they're to get anything from the clash:
" Certainly going to have to be a lot better than we were second half Saturday and throughout the 90 minutes today. I won't sugar-coat that, [it was] really poor on our part, especially winning the first one, not being able to stand up to any fight that Hebburn, were going to throw at us. [It'll be] another difficult surface at our place, unfortunately, as it is at the moment with the time of year and stuff like that.
"So it'll be another one of those games where we'll have to stand up to the fight. Russ's [Wilcox] a very experienced manager at this level. He's got his Gainsborough team playing well at the moment and know that they'll be looking to keep in touch with those playoff places. So no, another game where we'll obviously need to be a be on our game."
You can hear more from Gary Liddle, plus new goalkeeper Isaac Allen and Tuesday's goalscorer Jake Charles, on the latest Codcast.
Kick-off on Saturday is 3.00pm.
If you really can't make it, we have full commentary on This Is The Coast Extra.
There is a pitch inspection, at the Towbar Express Stadium, at 8.30am.
