Mossley beat Whitby Town 4-3 on penalties with the sides all square after 210 minutes of football.
On Saturday, the Seasiders drew 2-2 at Mossley (from the Northern Premier League Division One West) and were favourites to progress through in the replay at the Towbar Express Stadium.
It certainly looked that way at half time, with 2 goals from Stephen Walker putting the home side 2-0 up at the break.
But just like Saturday, the score ended 2-2 after normal time following 2 late goals, including an equaliser in the 6th minute of stoppage time.
Mossley carried the momentum into Extra Time with Luke Barlow scoring in the 2nd period.
But it was Whitby's turn to score a last-minute equialiser, with Stephen Walker getting his 3rd of the night and 5th of the tie, after the Blues were awarded a pentalty.
So onto penalties and it was all even in the shootout until Mossley keeper Finely Madigan saved Whitby's 4th and 5th pens, sealing a 2nd qualifying round time for the visitors.
Here's the moment Captain Jassem Sukar had his spot kick saved, sealing victory in the tie for Mossley:
So no repeat of last season's Emirates FA Cup run where Whitby played League One opposition.
