Whitby Town Football Club has announced the signing of three promising young players on loan from Sunderland's Academy to strengthen their squad for the remainder of the season.

The Seasiders are preparing for the final stages of the 2025/26 season, and the club has moved to secure fresh talent to aid their campaign.
Joint-Managers Lee Bullock and Jason Kennedy have been provided with enhanced flexibility as the team strives for positive results in the crucial run-in.
The club has confirmed the loan signing of highly-rated, German-born midfielder Elias Lenz from Sunderland. Lenz joins Whitby Town on loan until the end of the current campaign.
The midfielder has impressed within the Black Cats’ Under 21 setup. Prior to his move to Sunderland, Lenz progressed through the renowned RB Leipzig Academy.
According to the club, Lenz brings technical ability, composure, and tactical intelligence to the Seasiders’ midfield ranks.
In addition to the arrival of Lenz, Whitby Town have secured Finlay Holcroft on a Work Experience Loan from Sunderland, which will also run until the end of the season.
The eighteen-year-old defender is regarded as one of Sunderland’s promising defensive talents. He has featured regularly for both the Under 18 and Under 21 teams at his parent club.
Primarily a centre-back, Holcroft offers versatility across the defensive line. The club states that his inclusion aims to add defensive resilience and depth to the squad as they navigate the closing fixtures of the campaign.
To balance the defensive additions, the club has also added attacking impetus with the signing of Charlie Dinsdale, who arrives on a Work Experience Loan from Sunderland.
Dinsdale is an eighteen-year-old attacking midfielder who has been a standout performer at youth level.
The club notes that he has consistently contributed goals and creative play from advanced positions.
His arrival offers Whitby Town additional options in the attacking third, giving the management team more tools to work with as the season concludes.
