The club have responded to the incident which occurred after Tuesday night's FA Cup replay.
Whitby Town FC say they have been made aware of an incident shortly after the full-time whistle in Whitby Town's FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round Replay victory against Chelmsford City on Tuesday, 17th October.
An Upgang Lane resident contacted the football club having had their front window smashed as supporters left the Towbar Express Stadium @ The Turnbull Ground to make their way home.
Footage via a Ring Doorbell at the property shows an individual running across the front lawn and then smashing the front bay window before returning to the pavement and running away. This footage was captured at 9:57pm.
Two witnesses knocked on the property's front door shortly after the incident to tell the resident what they saw at the time.
Whitby Town have issued a statement saying:
"An active police investigation is currently underway however, as Whitby Town Football Club look to support our local community, we are asking anyone who may have any information on last Tuesday night's event to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 at the earliest opportunity, quoting the reference 12230197657
Alternatively, information can be passed on to the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
