Whitby Wildlife Sanctuary has made a Christmas appeal for unwanted presents to be donated to them to raise funds for their work.
In a statement they told This is The Coast:
At some time everyone gets a present they don't know what to do with.
This is an opportunity to do something really worthwhile with it and donate it to WWS to sell to raise money for the rescue, rehabilitation and release our wildlife. Someone else may want the gift, after all, someone bought it for you.
By allowing us to re-sell it, you are passing on the good wishes behind the gift. From the clothes and shoes that don’t fit to the accessories not to your taste and the books you’ve already read.
If you’ve had an upgrade, the WWS can also take unused toys or anything that’s been replaced by Christmas gifts. You can drop them off at the sanctuary on Stainsacre Lane or at the shop on Haggersgate, Whitby.
We may even be able to collect if you post a comment here we can see if a volunteer lives nearby that could pick up any unwanted items.
