Town councillors say they have received a number of comments about the number of both commercial and residential bins which are being left out around the town.
They are now asking both businesses and residents in Whitby to put their bins away.
Councillor Linda Wild says it's getting out of hand.
There are concerns about the impact it's having on the town's appearance.
