The COVID infection rate in the Scarborough Borough remains the highest in the county.
North Yorkshire County council is reaffirming it's message that people should follow the national lockdown rules and should not be visiting the Yorkshire Coast this weekend.
Although the seven day infection rate is falling in the borough it remains the highest in North Yorkshire and one of the highest rates in England.
The seven day rate which had been as high as 604 cases for every 100,000 people now stands at 411, the English average is 255.

Richard Webb is the County Council's Director of Health and Adult Services he says..
"Normally we welcome people to North Yorkshire. We've got a beautiful county, beautiful stretch of coast & the moors and we love to see people to come here, but the message at the moment is stay home."

Last weekend North Yorkshire police issued 45 COVID fines across North Yorkshire with 40 of those issued in the Scarborough Borough.
Richard Webb has thanked the vase majority of people who are following the rules and reiterated that those who flout the regulations will be dealt with.
