The children, under the age of 10, were last seen thumbing a lift in the Hawsker area and were not wearing any shoes.
Police were searching the area and have posted this onto social media this evening:

We are very pleased to let you know that the children who were seen at the side of the road "thumbing a lift" in the Hawsker area near Whitby, have been found safe and well.
