Whitby Town and Scarborough Athletic's defences started strongly on Saturday.
The Yorkshire Coast's Pitching In Northern Premier League Premier Division duo had an unbeaten start yesterday.
As heard live on This Is The Coast Extra yesterday, Scarborough Athletic earned a hard-fought 0-0 draw at highly-rated Basford United. The Nottinghamshire outfit are favoured for promotion by many but Boro had the lion's share of the game with Nathan Cartman having a 90th minute strike ruled out for offside.
Whitby Town went one better with a 1-0 victory at Lancaster City. Marcus Giles secured the points for the Seasiders with a fourth-minute winner. The home side had Niall Cowperthwaite sent off in the first half.
The Blues host Radcliffe Borough on Tuesday evening, while you can hear Boro's home clash with Ashton United live on the same night, from 7.45pm, only on This Is The Coast Extra.
