Scarborough businesses have welcomed the news that the Red Devils display team will be taking part in the town's Armed Forces Day event.
The Red Devils Parachute display team will be one of the main attractions at this years Armed Forces Day event in Scarborough.
The elite unit of the Parachute Regiment will be dropping in to the event in June.
The announcement has been warmly received by these Scarborough traders who say Armed Forces Day is a big event for Scarborough.
Thousands of people are expected to gather at Scarborough’s South Bay for the event on June 28th. The free event will see the skies above graced by a variety of thrilling aerobatic displays.
The Red Devils are an elite unit of the Parachute Regiment. They showcase the immense capabilities of the Army’s paratroopers to audiences across the world, performing more than 350 tandem skydives and 60 parachute displays every year.
These South Bay traders say Armed Forces Day is always one of the busiest days of the year and have welcomed the news that the display team will be dropping in.
The council say that further attractions will be announced in coming weeks, plus there will also be colourful parades, land-based displays, musical performances and family activities.
