There's a call for everyone to use lateral flow tests ahead of a busy weekend on the Yorkshire Coast.
With the bank holiday weekend approaching, health leaders in North Yorkshire are urging anyone planning a trip to make sure they are taking COVID tests before heading out.
North Yorkshire Public Health Consultant Dr Victoria turner says the infection rates in the county remain high and she urges everyone to continue taking lateral flow tests.
Last year the August bank holiday weekend lead to a surge in COVID cases.
Health leaders say that with infection rates in the county currently higher than they were this time last year it's likely that there will be another surge.
Dr Victoria Turner is urging everyone to take some simple social distancing steps over the coming weekend including moving on from busy locations.
