The charity fundraiser is back for the first time in two years.
The traditional new years day dip will be back in Scarborough this January.
It will be the first time in two years that the event has taken place.
Rob Hunter from Scarborough lions says there has been a good response from potential dippers.
As in previous years dippers are encouraged to get sponsorship for a charity of your choice. 75% of the money they collect will go to their charity of choice with the remaining 25% kept by the Lions to help those in need in the local area.
There will be prizes on the day for the best team fancy dress, the best individual fancy dress and the best child under 11 fancy dress.
Rob Hunter says it will be great to be able to continue with the tradition.
Registration will start at 10:30 on New Years Day with the dip getting underway at 12:45pm.
