Six Goals Secure Bridlington Town Pre-Season Victory After Early Deficit

Bridlington Town recovered from a two-goal deficit to defeat Tadcaster Albion 6-3 in an action-packed pre-season friendly featuring a hat-trick from forward Destiny Nnenanya.

A stunning six-goal comeback secured a pre-season victory for Bridlington Town following an early two-goal deficit against Tadcaster Albion.

The Seasiders claimed a commanding 6-3 win, driven largely by an impressive hat-trick from forward Destiny Nnenanya during a lively fixture.

A youthful starting eleven took to the pitch for the contest, selected by manager Scott Kerr to evaluate his squad options ahead of the new campaign.

Early setbacks tested the young squad, as the hosts quickly established a two-goal advantage. A low cross turned in at the back post opened the scoring for Tadcaster.

This early lead was swiftly doubled shortly after through a powerful low drive that found its way past Bridlington goalkeeper Baird.

Despite the difficult start, composure returned to the Bridlington side. The players settled into the rhythm of the match and began to turn the tie around before the half-time interval.

The comeback was initiated when Destiny Nnenanya won a penalty for the visitors. The forward stepped up and successfully converted the spot-kick himself to reduce the margin.

Moments later, the scores were levelled at two goals apiece. Destiny capitalised on a costly defensive error from the Tadcaster goalkeeper to grab his second goal of the afternoon.

A complete turnaround was achieved just before the break through an unselfish team move. Destiny found Trialist Birdsall running through the defence, and Birdsall set up Casey Stewart, who placed a precise low finish into the bottom corner to give Bridlington a 3-2 lead at half-time.

Momentum remained firmly with the Seasiders as the second half commenced. Destiny completed his hat-trick with a spectacular swerving strike that caught the Tadcaster goalkeeper completely off guard, extending the Bridlington advantage to 4-2.

Wholesale changes were introduced midway through the second half as Kerr opted to rotate his squad and provide valuable minutes to other players. Ahmed Salam, Luca Bolino, Billy Marshall, and Toby Marriott all entered the field of play.

Tadcaster briefly threatened a late resurgence, reducing the deficit following a misjudged bounce in the Bridlington penalty area to bring the scoreline to 4-3.

However, the Seasiders responded swiftly and decisively. A highly structured passing move involving Bolino, Cooper, and Marriott carved open the home defence.

The sequence ended with Trialist Birdsall finishing on the stretch to make it 5-3 and restore the comfortable two-goal cushion.

Late in the game, Ahmed Salam wrapped up the scoring to seal the 6-3 triumph. The substitute reacted fastest to convert a rebound after Marriott's initial shot was parried away by the goalkeeper.

A slight break from match action now awaits the Seasiders as they continue their summer training programme.

Pre-season preparations will resume when Bridlington Town return to action on the pitch against a Hartlepool United XI on August 1st.
