Motorists are being urged to avoid the A169 near Pickering and the A64 near Rillington following two separate collisions that have blocked the routes.
Major travel disruption is affecting motorists following two separate collisions that have blocked key routes in the region.
The A169 Malton Road is currently shut between Pickering and Malton, specifically in the area of Marishes, after a serious crash.
Emergency services are actively working at the scene of the incident. Drivers are being instructed to find alternative routes and avoid the area completely while the response continues.
In a separate incident nearby, the A64 is also blocked near Rillington in the Malton area due to another collision.
Emergency crews are on site managing the situation, and officials are urging the public to steer clear of this route as well.
Authorities have provided a brief update regarding the A64 closure.
A spokesperson said:
"Thank you for your patience, we hope to have the road clear in the next hour subject to vehicle recovery."
Motorists are being thanked for their patience while emergency responders work to clear both scenes and make the roads safe for travel once again.
