Police say Malton Road in Hunmanby could be closed for some time following the accident earlier this evening.
North Yorkshire Police tweeted:
"Malton Road, Hunmanby is closed due to a serious collision and is likely to be closed for some time. Please avoid the area while crews work at the scene. Please divert via Muston Road / A1039 Flotmanby Lane".
