An East Riding health director says Bridlington Hospital could be an ideal location for more minor operations to ease pressure on the NHS.
Bridlington doesn't have the same pressure as acute hospitals like York and Scarborough who can have emergency cases added to beds at short notice.
Simon Cox- East Riding of Yorkshire Place Director- at Humber and North Yorkshire Integrated Care Board- says there will be improvements in outpatient services at Bridlington:

Mr Cox says plans are in place and health bosses have already inspected the hospital in preparation.
He adds that funding may be allocated to Bridlington to provide a range of operations:
