Boro lost out, at The Flamingo Land Stadium, but other results went their way in National North.
The Seadogs were hoping to kick on from their 2-1 win at Boro Rangers in midweek.
However, Jono Greening's men were beaten 3-0 and the visitors even had a man sent off with 13 minutes left.
