Thor the Walrus who paid a visit to Scarborough in December has been spotted in Iceland.
British Divers Marine Life Rescue, who were involved in looking after Thor when he made an unexpected visit to Scarborough harbour last year say the Walrus has been spotted in the colder climes of Iceland.
Pictures of the walrus were captured by photographers in Iceland.
BDMLR say their Director of Welfare and Conservation matched the pale patches on his foreflippers with images taken in Scarborough.
The top image is from his picture in the article in Iceland with the bottom two images from Scarborough.
As was the case in Scarborough Thor's arrival in Breiðdalsvík has caused something of stir, the marine creatures are not often spotted in the country with the nearest populations in Svalbard and Greenland according to the Nature Center of East Iceland.
Thor turned up in Scarborough on December 30th and stayed through most of New Year's Eve forcing the cancellation of the evening's planned fireworks display.
