Scarborough Town Council has revealed the twenty-four local organisations set to benefit from its 2025/26 Community Grant Award Scheme.
Scarborough Town Council has officially announced the successful applicants for its Community Grant Award Scheme for the 2025/26 period. Twenty-four local groups and projects have been selected to receive funding to support their work across the town.
The council confirmed that it has now completed the process of assessing and appraising all applications. The evaluations were based on the criteria set out in the council's Community Grant and Donation Policy.

Two organisations received the highest available grants of £5,000. The Scarborough Sea Cadet Corp was awarded the sum for renovations and repairs to their Grade II listed Sea Cadet unit, which will include the installation of an all-access bathroom. The First Scarborough Scouts also received £5,000 to carry out an urgent repair of their hall floor.
Dial a Ride secured £4,870 to implement bus safety features, including reversing cameras and mechanisms for securing mobility aids and wheelchairs. Meanwhile, the Sparks Project CIO was granted £4,788 to provide accessible support sessions for parents, babies, and primary caregivers.
Futureworks NY received £4,500 to deliver youth development support, focusing on qualifications, relationship building, and confidence building. Grants of £3,000 were awarded to two groups: The Parent Pod CIC, which will run a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) youth club at an accessible venue with tailored activities, and YMCA Scarborough, for community tech crew training that provides a structured theatre technical training and placement pathway.
Woodlands Academy was granted £2,600 to install a climbing wall for SEND children.
Two heritage and cultural projects received £1,500 each. Scarborough Maritime Heritage will use the funds to update IT equipment for archive storage, including PCs and a scanner. Friends of South Cliff Gardens received the same amount for the 'Sound of South Cliff' project, which will provide music on Sundays and poetry on evenings in the gardens.
Several £1,000 grants were distributed to local causes. Yorkshire Coast Sight Support will purchase a new IT server for its Resource Centre, while Dads Behaving Madly will run a breakfast club for dads and male carers of children with additional needs. Lily’s Reptile Rescue will use its £1,000 for 'Learning to care' educational visits regarding reptile welfare to schools and community groups.
Also receiving £1,000 are Scarborough and District Mencap, for a replacement outdoor structure with a garden room and safe chill-out space for people with learning disabilities; Scarborough Disabled Swimming Group, for inclusive water therapy equipment for SEND children; and the Scarborough branch of the RSPCA, for neutering stray and feral cats to keep the local population under control.
St. Marks Community Hall was granted £843 to create a sensory area and purchase equipment for its 'Kidz and parents' group. The North Cliff Crown Green Bowling Club received £750 for rechargeable floodlights and a scorecard holder to extend winter outdoor play.
Grants of £500 were awarded to ConnectEd CIC for the 'Scarborough Youth Voice' podcasting project; Bar St Independent Traders for winter lights, hanging baskets, and a community event; Keep Scarborough Tidy for town centre litter picks with lunch provided for volunteers; and Barrowcliff School for a garden project to buy plants, seeds, and soil for a school allotment.
Scarborough Talking News for the Blind and Partially-sighted received £446 to purchase IT equipment to reach more listeners, and the University for the Third Age was awarded £445 for laptops to deliver lessons. Finally, Positivtipee received £250 for the expansion of a women's support group.
