On Friday Valerie Aston from Proudfoot visited Newby and Scalby Library.
She presented Isobel Nixon, Chairman of the library trustees, with a Making A Difference Locally Heart of the Community ‘Thrive in 2025’ cheque for £2000.
Valerie told us:
"This money will help to fund their summer reading challenge and support the ongoing work of this important community hub.
"While there, I enjoyed a lovely morning with the Trustees and volunteers and also joined the group to help ‘Make a Mini Wormery’ run by North Yorkshire Rotters."
