Scarborough Streets Festival will be returning for a second outing later in the year.
The success of the event this weekend has lead organisers to plan a further two day event in the Autumn.
Festival Director - Julian Caddy hopes the October outing for Scarborough Streets will bring more people to the town.
"It makes people want to come into the town centre. You know how difficult it is right now for the town centre businesses everyone's shopping online and doing whatever they're doing from their sofa at home. I think having animated things going on in the town centre makes a massive difference for that.
And actually with that, we are doing another Scarborough Streets in the autumn this year. So in October, we're doing another two day street festival again for that very reason, because it's a little bit quieter.
The weathers may be slightly changing and we'll be bringing people into town again. "
Julian added his hope that the festival will also see more local people getting involved in events.
"I want the festivals, the Scarborough Fair Festivals to be owned by the people of Scarborough. That's really the bottom line.
.And if we carry on doing the Scarborough Fair for years to come, that's how it will evolve, because then it stays relevant. 'cause the last thing we want is to have people. Seeing stuff and they think, oh, what's that? I don't wanna see that.
But it's things, seeing things and having things which people engage with and can take part in and learn something as well and happen upon it. And they go, oh, I didn't know. I didn't know I. Like this. And then they might end up going to buy a ticket to go and see a show or learn a new skill.
And now who knows lives could be changed by it. And I think it's really important, "

This weekend's Street Festival will now be followed by three other festivals are in Scarborough this summer as part of the 2025 Scarborough Fair.
