An incident on Wednesday evening led to the centre on Ashbourne Road being evacuated.
Later on Wednesday night, Scarborough Sports Village posted on their Facebook page that the centre would be closed until further notice and they apologised for any inconvenience.
Scarborough Sports Village houses two swimming pools, a gym, sports hall and 3G football pitch.
The pitch is currently out of use, due to drainage issues being discovered. Scarborough Athletic FC are playing their home games in Bridlington this season as a result.
Back in 2018, part of the swimming pool roof was blown off during Storm Callum.
We will update when more details are revealed about Wednesday night's incident.
