The lift has been out of action all year and is operational in time for this weekend's Jazz Festival at The Spa.
Scarborough Spa Cliff Lift is the UK's oldest cliff tramway and opened in 1875 with over 1400 people using it on its first day.
It's been closed for a long time due to maintainance work needing to be carried out.
One of the first to use it today was Alan Barnes, Compere at this weekend's Scarborough Jazz Festival. He said it was a big relief to be able to use it again as he had to transport instruments from his clifftop hotel to The Spa:
Also back open this week, after many decades closed, is the pedestrian tunnel which links the northern South Cliff Gardens to the southern South Cliff Gardens.

The restoration is part of millions of pounds worth of working currently ongoing to restire South Cliff Gardens to their former glory.
