Four team members at the Scarborough SEA LIFE Centre have been shortlisted for a series of regional and national awards, recognising their outstanding contributions to the North Bay attraction.
There is plenty to celebrate on the North Bay this month, as the Scarborough SEA LIFE Centre has seen a number of its dedicated team members recognised in both regional and national awards.
Three members of staff at the coastal attraction have been officially shortlisted in the upcoming Young Professionals Awards 2026.
The awards, which are run by Insider Yorkshire, are designed to celebrate rising talent from across the business community in Yorkshire.
The programme highlights the notable achievements of young professionals working across a variety of industries, including finance, law, engineering, hospitality, and marketing.

- Karl has been nominated in the Retail and Hospitality Professional of the Year category.
- Athena has secured a nomination for the Education and Training Professional of the Year.
- Meanwhile, Abi has been shortlisted in the Business Development Professional of the Year category.
The trio is said to represent a broad cross-section of the vital work carried out at the attraction, ranging from animal care and guest experience through to commercial performance.
The winners of the Insider Yorkshire Young Professionals Awards are set to be announced later this year.
The recognition for the Scarborough attraction does not stop there, with the Operations Manager at the site also receiving multiple accolades.
Kieran Wade has been nominated for two separate North Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards.
In addition to these regional nods, he has also received a national nomination for the Staffordshire University Apprentice of the Year.
His nominations reflect both his ongoing academic success and his significant contribution to operational improvements at the Scarborough site.
Speaking about the wave of nominations, the Scarborough SEA LIFE team described it as a proud moment for the attraction and the wider Scarborough community.
The team said:
"What’s really special is the variety of roles being recognised. It shows that success comes from every part of the business, and that everyone has a role to play in delivering a great experience for our guests."
The Scarborough SEA LIFE Centre is part of Merlin Entertainments and continues to play a key role in the coastal town’s tourism offering.
The popular attraction focuses on combining education, marine conservation, and family-friendly experiences for its visitors.
With multiple nominations spanning across different awards programmes, it is clear that the people working behind the scenes on the North Bay are making just as much of an impact as the attraction itself.
