The Science & Engineering Week showcase is supported by the North Yorkshire Business and Education Partnership (NYBEP) and has become the widest platform of hi-tech businesses and manufacturers in the area. It was started by Unison, the international and award-winning Scarborough engineering company.
All the usual exhibitors have come together to provide materials to support maintaining the visibility of the event during coronavirus. Some exhibitors have offered to provide a classroom session virtually – with speakers and Q&A panels, as well as impartial information sessions on apprenticeships.
Among the leading supporters is the York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership.
A spokesman said:
“We are delighted to again give our support to this event and especially this year which has seen such challenges for young people.
“It is crucial that we work together to show what brilliant and vital career opportunities exist in creating the engineers, designers, skilled apprentices and inspired trainees for tomorrow’s world.
“We need to reduce the skills gap and encourage growth and this event is one of many that helps towards that goal.”
