Pupils at St Peter's school in Scarborough are enjoying their new all weather pergola after winning a competition on This is the Coast.
St Peter's school entered the "Wood If I Could" competition which ran in September last year to celebrate This is the Coast's fifth birthday.
A fifth anniversary is classed as the "Wood" anniversary so the radio station teamed up with Flixton Sawmill to give local organisations and individuals the chance to win an outdoor wooden structure, something they would build if they could.
Nearly 400 submissions were received from local people with suggestions of structures that could be built to benefit local groups, organisations and individuals. A panel of judges sifted through the entries and selected the proposal from St Peter's School to receive the £2,500 investment.
The school was nominated by teacher Mrs McDonald with the idea to create an outdoor area that could be used for learning and activities.
After several months of design and planning the team from Flixton Sawmill arrived on site last month to build the pergola, complete with a roof and tables and chairs.

The construction work finished this week and on Tuesday pupils from the school were able to use the new structure for the first time.
Head Teacher Sarah Seeley said;
"It's absolutely fantastic. We're so grateful to this is the Coast and to Mrs. McDonald, our teacher who, um, put us forward for it.
It's going to make such a huge difference to the children in the summer, especially when they can get out here and use this space for worship or for artwork or anything else that the teachers take the fancy to really."
Richard from Flixton Sawmill said:
"I think it's a great thing to do and for the kids to benefit out of it through summer, even all weather really with having a roof on it. I think it's absolutely ideal for where it is."
Pupils at the school took ownership of the pergola on Tuesday afternoon during a visit from This is the Coast's Paddy.
