Education bosses say that home COVID testing played a key part in the decision to close two Scarborough education establishments this week.
Graham School and Scarborough Sixth Form College have both moved to online learning after a number of COVID cases were identified at each setting.
North Yorkshire's Director of Children and Young People's Services, Stuart Carlton, says the home lateral flow tests helped to identify the outbreaks.
Stuart Carlton says the home testing kits did their job at both Graham School and Scarborough Sixth Form.
