North Yorkshire Police have issued a traffic alert for the Victoria Road area of Scarborough.
They say:
"We're at the scene of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Victoria Road, Scarborough.
Road closures are in place at the junctions with Northway and Dean Road.
Please avoid the area while we work at the scene."
