Scarborough’s annual charity raft race was a huge success this Christmas, with 10 rafts taking part and massive support from the local community.
Around 80 participants were involved on the water, many dressed in fantastic fancy dress, and some of those taking part have been involved in the event for over 20 years.
Organisers from Scarborough Sub Aqua Club told This Is The Coast:
'The crowd turnout was brilliant, with plenty of good-natured flour bombs filling the air. A big thank you goes to Janet Jefferson for providing funding to help with crowd control, and to James Corrigan, Ruddy the barman, and Nick Taylor for their invaluable support on the day.
Final race positions will be confirmed once the paperwork is checked at the club, but overall it was a great community event and a fantastic way to raise money for charity.'
