The Open Air Theatre have released a statement about the summer 2021 season following this week's announcement of the roadmap out of lockdown.
The Theatre say a number of shows will have to be rescheduled in light of the dates for easing restrictions announced by the Prime Minster on Monday.
Shows affected include
- Crowded House on 8th June,
- Lionel Richie on 12th June,
- The Beach Boys on 13th June,
- UB40 on the 19th June
- and Ru Paul's Drag Race on 20th June.
In a post of social media the OAT say...
"We now have a roadmap for live shows to return and we cannot wait to welcome audiences back to Scarborough OAT this summer. However, due to new government guidelines, a number of shows scheduled to take place before June 21 will need to be rescheduled. Rest assured we are working with artists to find alternative dates for these shows so please bear with us and we will announce further details very soon. Take care and stay safe x"
The theatre recently obtained a change to it's planning restrictions which means all 30 of the shows it is permitted to stage each year can now take place in the summer months.
