Scarborough band, The Feens, are celebrating Leap Day with a stripped back acoustic performance.
The band will be taking part in a 'Leap Day Live Lounge' at a local recording studio this evening.
The event is being live streamed on Youtube, guitarist Freddy Schmuck says they wanted to do the event to highlight the facilities available to local musicians, but says there are a couple of challenges to overcome ahead of the performance.
The event is taking place inside the state-of-the-art Beckview Studios recording studio in Scalby.
Opened in May 2023 by Producer/Engineer Chris and Studio Manager Kristina, this acoustically treated facility is dedicated to providing musicians with a professional and creative environment to bring their musical visions to life.
Featuring an eclectic line-up of artists, "The Leap Day Live Lounge" promises to captivate audiences with acoustic performances by The Feens, Beetlebug, and Beth Pilling. In line with the studio's commitment to innovation, this event will be both filmed and live-streamed.
Freddy Schmuck says they wanted to take on the challenge of performing their songs in a stripped back arrangement.
Beckview Studios said:
"We are excited about this event, as it provides an opportunity to showcase the exceptional regional talent in our area, create a unique experience for our audience, and film and record it to expand the reach of our artists and the studio."
Freddy says that performing in a small environment with a small audience will be a new and different experience for the band.
Freddy says having the state of the art studios available locally has made a real difference to local musicians like the Feens.
Tonight's performance will be one of the first opportunities for Feen's fans to see the new line up in action after a change of drummer at the start of this year. Freddy says they have been "resetting" the band and have been working on new material.
The event runs from 7pm until 10:30pm with more details at https://www.beckviewstudios.co.uk/event
