The first call out was to Lastingham on Thursday followed by a 2nd call out to Driffield on Friday.
Rescue – Driffield – 19th January 15:28 – 03/2023
Called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to reports of a 73 year old female who had fallen on ice on a path in woodland close to Driffield Beck sustaining an ankle and possible hip injury. YAS has a crew on scene quickly who requested our help with the provision of a ‘casbag’ (think thick fleecy sleeping bag) and heat packs along with team members and a stretcher to carry her back to the waiting ambulance at the roadside. We had twelve team members deployed for two and a half hours.Rescue – Lastingham – 18th January 15:02 – 02/2023
Alerted to reports of a 68 year old female who had fallen on ice on a track close to Lastingham sustaining an ankle injury. The team responded to scene stabilising the lady’s injury before evacuating her to the roadside in Lastingham in one of our 4×4 vehicles where we made her as comfortable as possible and warm until a crew from Yorkshire Ambulance Service could attend and drive her to definitive medical care. We had nine team members deployed for four and three quarter hours.
