Former Scotland international Ross McCormack has been announced as the guest speaker at an event hosted by Scarborough’s Leeds United fans group.
After previous sell out events with ex players Ian Harte and Brian Deane, An Afternoon with Ross McCormack will see the striker discuss the highs and lows of his time at the Elland Road club at Scholar’s bar on Sunday 22 June 2025.
The event is being hosted by local Leeds United Supporter’s group The Scarborough Whites.
Starting his career at Glasgow Rangers, McCormack signed for Leeds from Cardiff City and was the club’s top goalscorer in two of his four seasons at Elland Road.
He would go onto make over 150 appearances during some very turbulent times at the club under numerous managers including Simon Grayson, Brian McDemott and Neil Warnock scoring 58 goals in the process and eventually becoming club captain.
After finishing the 2013/14 season as the league's top goalscorer, McCormack was sold to league rivals Fulham by controversial chairman Massimo Cellino.
He later went onto play for the likes of Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest before a short spell in Australia where he played alongside the Olympic sprinting champion Usain Bolt for Central Coast Mariners.
Scarborough Whites Club Secretary Mark Stanger said:
“Ross played for a lot of interesting managers and owners during his time at Leeds and after his impressive appearances on podcasts such as Undr the Cosh and Open Goal we know he will make for an excellent guest speaker”.
The event will be hosted by returning compère and comedian Pete Emmett.
