After three years of planning Scarborough is hosting the National Armed Forces Day event today.
Postponed twice due to the pandemic, the event could see over a hundred thousand people visit the town for a day celebrating the work of the armed services.
The RAF Falcons Parachute Display Team will land on South bay Beach at 10:30
The Red Arrows will perform a half hour display at 1pm and there will be a flypast from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at 2 o'clock.
Later in the day there will be displays from the Royal Navy Wildcats and an RAF Typhoon.
The Navy have taken the lead in planning this years National Armed Forces day event.
Commodore Phil Waterhouse is the Joint Military commander for the day, he says it's great to the event take place in a coastal setting.
Wing Commander Alan Bartlett from the Yorkshire regiment, says it's great to have the event in the county, he says there will plenty of local service personnel involved in the day's events.
One of the main purposes of Armed forces day is to provide an opportunity for everyone to show their support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community, not just currently serving troops but also their families.
John Senior is the co-ordinator for Heroes Welcome, he's looking forward to welcoming forces families to the town today.
Stuart Clarke is Scarborough Borough Council's event manager for today's event.
He says there is a great programme of activity.
