A group of Scarborough friends are taking on a running challenge this week to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.
Ann Kitto is one of those taking part in the challenge to run 3 marathons in 36 hours.
Ann says the group are keen runners and will be marking a number of special birthdays by taking part in the challenge this weekend.
On Friday 9th June the friends have set themselves the challenge of running 80 miles in 36 Hours.
They will start running at 7am, Ann explains how they are going to structure the event.
Ann says it's not the first time the group have taken on such a challenge, but says this one is the biggest challenge so far.
2023 is a special year for four of the runners who are taking part as they will all have a zero on the end of their ages, in order to mark their birthdays the ladies have decided to take on the challenge to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.
Ann says:
"We would be so very grateful and appreciate your help in helping us to raise as much as we possibly can for this very worthy cause."
The group of runners have set up a JustGiving page where local people can support their fundraising efforts. https://www.justgiving.com/page/zerochallenge4alzheimerssociety
