A fire in a building in York Place in Scarborough has lead police to close the road.
North Yorkshire Police say York Place in Scarborough is closed as the fire service deal with a building fire.
A number of fire appliances are in attendance at the scene.
Police say they expect the road to be closed for some time and are asking people to avoid the area if possible.
East Yorkshire Buses report that the road is blocked, they say:
"Due to a building fire on York Place the road is currently closed off. All services which normally serve this route will divert via Westborough. Stops on York Place will be missed"
