Thalia would have been 6 today, but tragically died in August with Restrictive Cardiomyopathy.
She was on the urgent list for a heart and lung transplant but no donor could be found in time.
Charlotte Haythorne, Thalia's cousin, has been speaking to Paddy At Breakfast this morning:
"Today would have been Thalia's 6th birthday but unfortunately she passed away in August leaving a massive hole and void in all our lives. And we've all felt the magnitude of this loss but we've felt so passionately about doing something positive and something good to honour her memory and legacy, therefore we've decided to set up a Foundation to help other people in her name. We have to say a huge thank you to the local community, so many people have wanted to get on board".
The Foundation was hoping to launch today with care packages for children staying long term in hospital but the pandemic has put that on hold for now. Longer term, the family want to support other families in a similar position to them.
Charlotte told Paddy about the special person Thalia was:
"We are biased because we absolutely adored her. She was our world. But she was so funny, so kind. Everybody who knew her said how sassy she was but she had the most beautiful heart. She cared for everybody and I think her beauty, and her inner beauty spoke for itself. Strangers used to comment on how lovely and kind she was. People always used to say how polite and thoughtful she was. Even when she was in hospital, she wanted to use her pocket money to spend on other children and the babies and do something to make them smile. That's what's inspired us".
