Scarborough Cricketers in Trouble After Defeat

Scarborough CC remain in relegation trouble after defeat on Saturday and they could be replaced in Yorkshire Premier North by another Yorkshire Coast club.

Boro are just four points above the relegation zone after being bowled out in the 46th over, at Driffield, for just 151. Robert Pinder top-scored with 28.

The hosts reached their target with just three wickets down and more than half their overs remaining.

Prince Bedi, Muhammad Ayub and Clarke Doughney took the wickets.

Folkton & Flixton remain in promotion contention for a place in Scarborough's division.

The villagers leapfrogged their opponents into third spot after a dramatic away victory on Saturday.

Folkton & Flixton won the toss, at Hull Zingari, and chose to bat first but were skittled for 208.

Several batsmen got starts but couldn't go on- Charlie Colley and Elliot Hatton both made 33 with Colley left unbeaten.

Zingari started strongly but Colley and Hatton again impressed with the ball.

Colley was unstoppable with 6 for 29, helping reduce the home side from 177/2 to 179/6.

They couldn't quite get the last Hull wicket, but still picked up a seven-run win to sit just a single point behind the YPN Championship East's second-placed side.

In the same division, Bridlington were well beaten at Dukes Park by Beverley Town Seconds.

Beverley won the toss and recovered from 29/4 thanks to an unbeaten century.

They eventually posted 231/9 from their 50 overs. Casey Rudd took 2/27, Ben Traves 2/29, Russell Robinson 2/48 and Steve Janney 2/69.

Adam Newington grabbed the other wicket to fall.

Brid were bowled out 46 runs short with ten overs left, this despite skipper Robinson's superb 67 from 73 balls.

In North Yorkshire South Durham Division One, a torrential downpour ended Whitby's reply to Seaton Carew at the Turnbull Ground.

The visitors posted 218/6, from their 50 overs, with Ricky Hall taking 3/68, Kobie Boocock 2/31 and Steve Allen 1/49.

Whitby reached three without loss before the heavens opened and washed out the rest of the match.

They are just eight points clear of the bottom two despite picking up a useful nine points from the abandonment.
