Volunteers are cycling over 20 miles from Whitby to Scarborough to raise money for a new van for a popular local charity.
Staff and friends of The Rainbow Centre in Scarborough are cycling along the cinder track on Sunday.
One of those hitting the pedals is the centre's Fundraising Officer James Howard.
He's looking forward to the challenge:
"Yeah, lovely, lovely route. I cycled Ravenscar back from Whitby last week and it's looking in good nick and the scenery is fantastic. So if we get a nice warm day, it will be brilliant.
"We've not put an amount on it that we're wanting, but we are actually trying to raise money down here at the Rainbow Centre for a new van. So all our fundraising issues at the moment are going straight towards the van.
"So anything we can raise will be going straight towards that. It's on a day-to-day basis, we need it for everything. Pick-ups, drop-offs, absolutely everything, it's indispensable to us."
James says the charity is also looking for more helpers:
"Yes, we are. So we're always on the lookout for good volunteers. The place is kind of built around volunteers. So I think we're well into double figures every day that we need. We have a few who have gone on to employment recently, so we're just looking to bring new faces in and, you know, a little bit of enthusiasm to, to keep us going.
"There's all sorts of different roles. We've obviously got the food bank, which is very prominent here, but we've also got reception, we've got client support. Then you'd be working directly with me possibly on events and fundraising, which would be more on the weekend.
"So there's plenty of roles and you wouldn't necessarily be stuck to one role."
Hours are flexible with the centre being open 9am-2pm Monday to Friday.
The Rainbow Centre will also be releasing more details this week on their Big Sleepout at Northstead School in Scarborough at the end of August.
The charity works extensively with homeless people and those that help them and want to recreate their experiences and raise money by sleeping outside for the night.
