The COVID infection rate in the Scarborough Borough has continued to fall this week.
The seven day average infection rate per hundred thousand people now stands at 292 down from over 650 a couple of weeks ago.
North Yorkshire's Director of Public Health, Louise Wallace, says it's good news but she remains cautious.
There are now 131 people in North Yorkshire's COVID wards, down five on last week, but the number of people needing intensive care is up by 6 to 22.
In Scarborough Hospital there are now 7 COVID patients down from 9 last week.
the infection rate in the borough is also down after reaching an all time high of 650 last month
Louise Wallace says despite the decrease the numbers remain relatively high.
